Present your region’s approach to climate change in our series of webinars with four US regions
Resulting from a November meeting in Brussels between the US metropolitan regions of Chicago, Denver, Kansas and Washington, and Stuttgart Region, the EU programme International Urban Cooperation (IUC) and METREX are organising a series of webinars to take place on the 4th Wednesday of every month at 5pm, from January 2020.
The webinars are designed to support these four US regions as they embark upon the development of climate and energy action plans. During the webinars, the European and US metropolitan cities/regions will come together and have the opportunity to discuss their experiences, lessons learned, and share their recommendations and visions to accelerate the development of sound plans, and climate action.
We are looking for METREX members who can present their approaches at one of the upcoming webinars, which will cover themes including: Promoting energy efficient settlement structures; Transit oriented development; Mobility; Renewable energy; Green Infrastructure and Climate adaptation; Storm water management / Flood protection; Adaptation of urban areas and infrastructure; Participation and engagement; Governance / decision making.
IUC has a strong preference for METREX members who are part of the Global Covenant of Mayors. Stuttgart Region is happy to present the Stuttgart case as a first start in January.
This is a great opportunity to tighten transatlantic relationships on adaptation to climate change! Furthermore, IUC may also support another in-person meeting which could be attended by METREX members.
If you are interested in presenting your approach to climate change on one of the themes listed or an additional theme relevant to a climate and energy action plan, please contact Stephen Gallagher as soon as possible.
