Students, young researchers and professionals invited to bring fresh perspectives to the future of the Eurodelta through the Next Generation Podium.
After the success of the first two editions in 2021 and 2022, the SURE network is organising a third edition of the Next Generation Podium.
The SURE network is a sub-network group within METREX and is a collaboration between cities and metropolitan areas in the river delta from the Rhine, Scheldt and Meuse. The network is a platform for the exchange of knowledge, expertise and experience among practitioners in the field of economics, sustainability and spatial planning.
The five-day Next Generation Podium programme – spread over March and May 2023 – is open to students, young researchers and professionals working in the field of architecture, design, urban studies, economic geography, mobility and spatial planning AND EVERYONE INTERESTED. The symposium aims to bring out fresh perspectives from the young generation and create dialogues between experts practice and academia.

This edition of the platform will focus on “Circular Delta, Accessible Delta, Fluid Delta”
The subject of circular economy, cross-border mobility corridors and contextualizing the delta region from a water and societal perspective will be tackled from a transnational governance approach and with a strong focus on cross-border collaboration.
This years’ edition will be split across two separate weeks, with hybrid lecture series, lunch forums, taking place between 20-22 March, and an online workshop between 11-12 May.
