METREX is pleased to announce that is has become a member of the European Urban Research Association (EURA).
EURA has for over 25 years promoted innovative research design, exchange of knowledge and knowledge transfer, and aims to offer a bridge between research and policy.
The membership is in recognition of the need for practitioners within the METREX network to have access to the latest scientific research from Europe’s best institutes.
It will serve as a platform for METREX and EURA to collaborate on a number of initiatives that will bring our networks closer together. This will include various events and learning exchanges, but also when seeking new partners for EU project applications.
Speaking about this new collaboration, the secretary general of METREX, Henk Bouwman, said: “We are very pleased to formalise this important connection between our two organisations. Between the people who gather evidence on the best solutions to Europe’s big issues and the people who need to solve them. We look forward to developing a programme of activity where both our networks come together.”
Filipe Teles, president of EURA, said: “EURA welcomes METREX as a new member and we are looking forward to working together on our shared goals of exchanging knowledge and expertise on metropolitan affairs. A set of activities are already being discussed and, I’m sure, we’ll be able to give a substantial contribution to build the capacities required to address current policy challenges.”
METREX members are encouraged to consider this new link to the EURA network when making applications to European-funded projects.
