SAH Meeting #3: Get-inspired session
13:30-14:30 CET, Online
Under the coordination of Claudia Murray, University of Reading, METREX Sustainable and Affordable Housing expert group will continue to explore regional affordability through a new multi-sectoral approach.
This third appointment looked at Models of Real Estate Development Process. Claudia Murray herself examined the four fundamental models of real estate development according to Patsy Healy’s research.
In the 1980’s, Healey argued that neoclassical economics were not sufficient to explain how urban development processes worked and that their complexity needed to be understood.
With a focus on affordable housing, the models analysed and discussed in this session include:
1) Equilibrium models;
2) Event sequence models,
3) Agency models and
4) Structure models.
Understanding and effectively applying these models are essential for creating policies and regulations that can underpin land and real estate markets.
