The European Commission in collaboration with Città Metropolitana di Roma Capitale is developing a European Network of Cities for Apprenticeships.
This network aims to raise awareness on the role of cities in supporting apprenticeships in collaboration with regional and national stakeholders, to become an advocacy platform, and to provide cities with information, training, and technical and policy assistance.
The Covid-19 outbreak is already rewriting our daily life, our jobs and education. If it has any silver lining, it is the possibility of a much-needed reset in public dialogue that focuses attention on the most vulnerable in society, on the need for global co-operation, and on the importance of connecting skills and jobs. Forward-thinking and citizen-centric cities are destined to become tomorrow’s leaders.
The network will play a proactive role in encouraging development of green skills as well as digital skills in apprenticeships.
The network will start its activities in June 2020 through a series of virtual and live workshops and develop proposals to be shared with the European Commission. During these events, the members will contribute to shaping the network presenting their expectations and ideas. At the same time, the workshops will become a catalyst for discussions on the role of cities in developing and implementing apprenticeships.
The first online workshop is taking place on Thursday 11 June 2020 at 10:00-12:00pm CEST.
If you represent a city and would be interested in joining the network, or you would like to refer a city, please fill in the online form by 25 May 2020.
