The European Commission has published a Communication on Harnessing Talent in European Regions and is launching the Talent Booster Mechanism, which aims to bring a fresh impetus for re and up-skilling as the first key initiative in 2023 to contribute to the European Year of Skills.
This Mechanism will support EU regions affected by the accelerated decline of their working age population to train, retain and attract the people, the skills and the competences needed to address the impact of the demographic transition.
A call is now open until 15 September for stakeholders at EU, national and regional level to be part of four working groups on the topics of: Digital, Health, Research & Innovation and Territorial.
The working groups are created as part of the Harnessing Talent Platform (HTP) launched by European Commission’s DG REGIO. The Working groups will exchange ideas, solutions, knowledge and resources to help EU regions dealing with demographic challenges to attract, retain and develop talent.
Here’s what you can expect from the HTP Working Groups:
- Regular working group meetings (physical in Brussels and online)
A forum for strategic exchange, deploying problem-solving, advocacy, and stakeholder inclusion principles - Gathering and producing knowledge on regional talent development challenges, impacts, strategies, and best practices
- Assisting local and regional authorities in implementing tailored and comprehensive solutions to tackle development issues
- Opportunities to enhance your network through the discussions with experts in the field of (regional) talent development.
This call is aimed at stakeholders at EU, national and/or regional level, such as: public authorities, research organisations, universities, think tanks, civil society organisations, Pan-European organisations and business associations that activate in the fields related to the four topics of the working groups.
