14:00-16:00, Online
For this online event of the Productive City Expert Group we had a guest presentation from Francesca Froy. Francesca is running her PhD at the University College London. She has a background as an economist but has been very interested in local economy and particularly space for production. She was a fellow of Mariana Mazzucato’s Inst for Innovation and Public Purpose at UCL, but has more recently moved to Oxford. She has been involved with the grass-roots initiative in London called the ‘Guardians of the Arches’, to preserve affordable workspaces within the city. More recently she has also collaborated with the Space Syntax group from the UCL.
Her contribution was very enlightening and a useful follow up from the last group’s discussion.
A report from her contribution on “Industry relatedness Analysis” has been published on the Greater Manchester Independent Prosperity Review, March 2019, and available at the following link: https://www.greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk/media/1915/gmipr_tr_industryrelatednessanalysis.pdf
