The Nice Conference was on the theme of spatial planning and development in Europe and its implications for metropolitan regions, and was attended by some 140 delegates. There were over 40 speakers in the seven plenary and nine workshop sessions. The conference adopted a 10-point resolution covering – European, national and metropolitan spatial planning, administration, sustainability, metropolitan roles and visions, common issues, networking, cohesion, European recognition, European support and action.
